Weights are the ASTM A615/A615M nominal values used by mills, fabricators, and estimators. To calculate the total weight of an order, multiply lbs/ft × length (ft) × number of bars, or use the Rebar Weight Calculator for a live number.

Bar sizes #3 through #11 are consecutive eighths of an inch (#4 = 4/8" = 0.500"). Sizes #14 and #18 skip in the sequence and correspond to 1¾" and 2¼" nominal diameters.

Frequently asked

What is the heaviest standard rebar size?
#18 (57M metric) at 13.60 lbs/ft — used for heavy foundations, bridge piers, and large columns. The lightest is #3 at 0.376 lbs/ft.
Why do some rows list a metric size like 13M?
Metric labels (10M, 13M, 16M...) are the ASTM A615M soft-metric equivalents. The bar is the same physical size — only the label differs.
Where does this rebar weight data come from?
ASTM A615/A615M Table 1 (nominal weights). Same values referenced in the CRSI Manual of Standard Practice.
